Artworks produced on paper such as prints are usually displayed hidden behind glass in what can become costly framing solutions for the artist. This course teaches you how to mount your prints for display using board or canvas stretcher, paper and glue. This mounting system is completely archival and will preserve prints beautifully for framing at a later date.
What to expect:
Lesson 1: Preparing your workspace. Identifying and preparing the materials for print mounting. Discussion and preparation of nori glue, brushes and glue preparation for mounting process. How to make nori glue from rice starch at home. A discussion of paper choices and options.
Lesson 2: A step by step demonstration on how to glue your print to paper and then to the mounting board.
Lesson 3: A step by step demonstration on mounting a print to canvas stretcher. How to clean and care for your brushes. Trimming the mounted prints. A discussion on the brushes used and prints suitable for this mounting process.
