Your inky news March ’23
Hello there!
The start of March ushers in the launch of our TPG MENTORSHIP PROGRAM. This mentorship, run by Principal Leonora Venter and her team, is a year long program aimed to provide a carefully thought out curriculum that will bolster not only your printmaking skills, but your art business skills and your general art practice skills.
We have launched the mentorship this year, 100% sponsored by TPG itself. This means that there was a limited space available. We only had FIVE spots up for grabs, and advertised the program nationally, allowing both members of TPG and non-members based in Gauteng to apply.
Based on the expected success of this program we aim to roll it out nationally next year and open up the spots to more applicants. If you would like more information about the mentorship and how you could get involved, either by helping sponsor the program or offering your skills to the mentees, please contact Leonora Venter via email. We already have a full program planned for 2023, but would love to get you involved for 2024.
We are so excited to announce the successful applicants of 2023’s TPG Mentorship Program:
Elrike Theron
Kelebogile Masilo
Simphiwe Dhlamini
Swaline Mkhonto
Thabang Moatshe
Another exciting launch for TPG this month is out TPG Courses. These are available to both members and non-members of TPG. Our first course is by Natasha Norman and is called ‘Printmaking: Paper Mounting’. In this course Natasha takes you through the process of mounting your prints, as an alternative to framing, or wrapping your prints. More information about this course and where to do it will be posted below.
We also have our first workshop for the Month, ‘Art & Concept’ hosted by Emma Willemse.
Lastly, we have the first crit session hosted by myself, Amy Jane van den Bergh, taking place this month. These crit sessions, spread out throughout the year, and all over the country, aim to help our members dig deep into their process and concepts, ensuring that they make their best work yet!
A promising month, indeed! Buckle up! On your marks, get set, GO!
Keep printing!

TPG Instagram Takeovers
During the month of February we had Nicky Liebenberg, Sharon Sampson and Lindsay Quirk takeover our instagram page and introduce us to their printmaking adventures. Nicky’s mixed media works and delicate portraits kicked off our year with so much inspiration. Next up we got a toast of Sharon’s enthusiasm for all things print, and lastly Lindsay wowed us with the complexity of much of her printmaking techniques.
If you would like to get to know our members better, make sure you follow our instagram page. This month we have instagram takeovers by Kay Fourie, Donna Solovei, Mandy Conidaris, Zenande Mketeni and Angelique Bougaard. Follow them for your daily serving of print inspiration.
